Wedding cakes raise the stakes: multiple tiers, delicate finishes, and often a long drive to the venue. Whether it's a naked cake, a buttercream finish, or fresh florals, the goal is the same — arrive flawless.

Before you leave

  1. Dowel and board each tier so the structure is solid. Assemble on site when possible.
  2. Chill thoroughly — a cold cake is a stable cake.
  3. Add Icing Saver picks above the top tier's decorations and tent wrap so nothing rubs the finish.
  4. Box the base board or set it on a non-slip mat, and keep the vehicle cool.
Florals and toppers: transport separately and add them at the venue. Fewer fragile elements in the car means fewer things that can shift.

At the venue

Assemble tiers, place fresh florals, and remove the picks and wrap last — right before the cake goes on display. For the drive itself, follow our transport checklist.
